Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Dear Queer Dancer will fund staff salaries for our Event Producer, Communications Manager, and Executive Artistic Director to build our capacity in meeting the needs of our growing community and the programs and services they seek.
Organization Summary
Dear Queer Dancer is an arts service organization and professional development network for LGBTQ+ dancers. Our core programs and services are:
-Organizing the annual QueerDanceCon which brings together LGBTQ+ dancers, choreographers, theatre directors, arts administrators, somatic practitioners, and dance movement therapists to network, inspire each other, and build creative opportunities.
-Providing an online directory of LGBTQ+ dancers to increase their professional visibility
-Connecting the queer and trans community with LGBTQ+ led dance classes and workshops via our events calendar
