Creative Growth Art Center was founded in 1974 in Oakland, California. Our mission is to enrich the lives of adults with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities by providing a professional studio environment for artistic development, gallery exhibition, and representation. Creative Growth was founded on the idea that all people can gain strength, enjoyment, and fulfillment from experiences in the arts and are capable of producing works of high artistic merit. Creative Growth aims to elevate its artists from the margins to the mainstream, ensuring representation in exhibitions locally, nationally, and internationally. As a result, Creative Growth’s artists have become respected voices in the contemporary art world.
