Project Description

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA’s) mission is to achieve a just society fully inclusive of immigrants. CHIRLA engages in the arts to stir the beliefs, feelings, intellectual curiosity of its base and to connect communities to the immigrant rights movement. CHIRLA operates from the idea that artistic expression is part of civic engagement and that presenting cinematic stories as a tool for organizing, information, and inspiration is critical to the integration of mixed immigrant families in a pluralistic society.
