With support of the California Arts Council, the Old Town Temecula Community Theater will expand Temecula Presents’ Arts Education Internship. The original project featured a student-led, musical theater production in The Merc (66-seats). The expanded project will allow this program to grow and transition to the Theater (354-seat, state-of-the-art proscenium stage). This free program provides youth access to three-months of mentorship from expert advisors resulting in six public performances.
The Old Town Temecula Community Theater provides memorable cultural arts experiences for residents and visitors alike. Temecula Theater’s staff, technical crew, and state-of-the-art digital lighting and sound systems ensure that every performance, from professional artists to local recitals, shines brightly. Arts education, master classes, and mentorship programs have always been part of Temecula Theater’s core values since opening on OCT 4, 2005. Free Master Dance Classes are presented three times a year by professional dance companies and offer monthly local danceXperiences. Multiple open rehearsals are held throughout each season with educational talkbacks. In 2008, we partnered with the Temecula Valley Unified School District and our Theater Foundation to create ArtsConnection bringing 4,000 students to the theater yearly. Temecula’s Theater offers an exceptional volunteer program, and we recently launched a free student-led, all-volunteer, musical internship production in 2019.
