With support from the California Arts Council, the City of Simi Valley will expand their Young Artists Playground Summer Camp program and increase accessibility to the community through tuition scholarships, expanding year-round arts educational workshops and mini camps taught by paid professional multicultural artists.
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center serves as a presentation, production, and rental house for theatrical productions, concerts, and community events. SVCAC produces an average of three to four in house productions a year on the Mainstage and DownStage as well as several concert series and is also available for rent by local arts groups. Its DownStage Cabaret theater functions as a black box venue for lower scale/experimental works as well as a rental space for community events, luncheons, private parties, etc. The facility is also home for art exhibits, youth arts education summer theater camps, youth arts education workshops, community craft fairs, and non-profit and community meetings.
