With support from the California Arts Council, City of Davis Arts & Cultural Affairs will collaborate with the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance and Teaching Artist Sarah Hart to offer a series of professional development workshops for Davis School District K-12 teachers interested in incorporating educational theatre pedagogies into their classrooms.
The Arts & Cultural Affairs Program (ACA) designs and manages efforts targeting the cultural enrichment of the city; supports artists and arts providers in the community; encourages private support of arts and culture; increases public understanding and appreciation of cultural activities in all disciplines; manages guidelines for acquisition and long-term care of City-owned works of art; and administers the Arts and Cultural Affairs Fund to support our creative community. ACA also supports the Civic Arts Commission, which advises the City Council on matters relating to arts and culture in the community. Oversight of the Veterans Memorial Theatre, a 325-seat community theatre, is also included in the portfolio of programs managed through the ACA.
