Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, CITIZENS OF CULTURE will produce art exhibits that uplift marginalized voices through our Nous Tous Community Gallery. Funds from the Cultural Pathways grant fuel the installation and supply costs for each show to be curated and installed at local sites throughout the city to showcase local artists of color, women, those from the LGBTQ community, those with mental health issues an physical or cognitive disabilities.
Organization Summary
Citizens Of Culture provides free or low cost community art and therapy programs to educate, connect, and inspire individuals to develop a creative practice from which to develop their sense of efficacy and share common experiences and goals. VENT is an 8 week program that helps people of color unpack racial trauma. Relationship Practice is a 5-week program that helps people explore physical and emotional intimacy. Nous Tous is a community art space dedicated to empowering marginalized voices. We also provide equity, inclusion, and social sustainability training for businesses.
