With support from the California Arts Council, Children’s Playtime Productions (“CPP”) will be able to resume and continue our pre-Covid expansion of opportunities for ALL youth using tools within the theatrical arts. This includes instructor fees and costs for clubs, classes, performances, and original outreach opportunities.
– Major Main Stage Productions in which participants are performers and families join together to bring the productions to life. At least one of these annually is at the McCallum Theatre and brings the performances to life for audiences of 7,000 or more. Others are staged at our new flexible performance space in The Shops @ Palm Desert (formerly Westfield Mall).
– Clubs in which participants learn and hone a variety of skills related to Theatrical Arts (Singing, Dancing, Acting, Improv, Pantomime) while also experience the growth benefits that derives from that participation. Each Club also provide their own performance opportunities via regular Showcases.
– Youth Take the Stage Talent Showcase program that brings together youth performers from all throughout the valley communities (regardless of affiliation to other groups, schools or not at all).
– Educational Workshops directed to specific topics of interest relative to skill development.
– Camps where participants work together to explore various aspects of Theatrical Arts and put the knowledge to a common performance goal.
– Touring Shows that provide compact and portable ways to affordably bring live theatre to otherwise underserved communities.
– Customized Programs which range from assisting youth to bring their idea to life to creating original programs to address specific needs, wants and desires of a segment of our communities.
– Holiday Caroling at Senior Facilities to bring the joy and laughter of youth together with the now-often-illusive holiday spirit of seniors confined to care homes.
