Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, CHICANO PARK MUSEUM AND CULTURAL CENTER will hire veteran actor/playwright/director HERBERT SIGUENZA to lead a community writers workshop and gather stories about the living artists and activists of Chicano Park. The stories of longtime Barrio Logan residents will also be documented through interviews. The material from all these oral histories will be transcribed edited and created for a series of public performances called RESISTANCE CREATES BEAU

Turning Wheel: Mobile Classroom serving K-12 schools, community centers etc
Community Forums–where we provide visual arts exhibition in conjunction to the topic ie. gentrification, Braceros, Lowrider, etc
Community events that include music, dance, spoken work targeted at seniors, youth etc.
