Project Description
With support from the California Art Council, Calpulli Tlayolotl’s services as a traditional Meso American Aztec Danza group will be more visible and accessible, in a safe space, to those in our community. Calpulli Tlayolotl is committed to providing comprehensive Aztec dance lessons and art workshops that incorporate the use of our native Nahuatl language. Our goal is to have a higher level of engagement with the community, to grow our group and support new members through their Danza journey.
Organization Summary
Calpulli Tlayolotl provides traditional Danza Azteca/Mexica practice once a week free of charge In Woodland California. The group provides presentations throughout Woodland and Yolo County at various educational institutions and inter tribal events. Our group offers workshops on regalia and instrument making.
