Creating a better California by advancing the arts, culture and creativity, the mission of Californians for the Arts (CFTA) is to increase public awareness of the importance of the arts, to ensure that the arts are an ongoing part of the public dialogue, and to encourage Californians to value the arts as a critical component of their lives and the lives of their communities.
Asserting that the arts are essential to a prosperous and just society, CFTA extends its impact across the state by acting as a network of networks. Our board members are leaders of a range of arts organizations such as Yerba Buena Center, Theatre Bay Area, The San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition, Latino Arts Network, Los Angeles Music Center, Old Globe Theater, Alameda County Arts Commission, Arts Orange County and Nevada County Arts Council. Our supporters are diverse representing artists, organizations, students, foundations, arts professionals and civic minded Californians engaged in the arts.
