With support from the California Arts Council, CHIRP will bolster our operating budget supporting payroll for 2 full time employees and essential utilities (lights, internet, phone) at our Art Gallery and Culture center. This brick-and-mortar location provides accessibility and visibility for arts, Culture, and educational programs that serve our mission.
CHIRP serves the Nisenan community of the Nevada City Rancheria, as well as the general public, through 8 program areas. Through these 8 program areas, we develop and implement projects that advance our mission. The 8 programs are: Fundraising and Economic Development – Cultural Preservation and Education – Land and Sacred Site Protection and Acquisition – Environmental and Human Health – The Arts – Tribal and Historical Archive – Advocacy, Equality, Inclusion and Justice – Media, Outreach and Communications.
