With support from the California Arts Council, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido will provide arts integration lessons in visual art, theater, and photography. The Taste of the Arts program will serve middle and high school students in the San Diego County Office of Education’s Juvenile Court and Community Schools (SDCOE/ JCCS). The program provides students with high quality arts education that strengthens creative thinking, problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.
The Center’s unique campus includes a 1,523-seat concert hall, a 404-seat theater, an art museum, art and dance studios, and a full-service conference center with meeting and banquet facilities. The Museum is an inviting 9,000-square-foot exhibition space with three galleries, a dedicated youth exhibition gallery wall, a sculpture court, secure collections storage, and a museum store.
The Center performing arts season presents 26 diverse offerings. The Museum presents four exhibitions a year. Each exhibition is enhanced by lectures, art education tours and activities. Each exhibition features the work of local students in order to engage youth in a deeper conversation around art and how it exists and impacts the world around them.
