Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, the Calexico Arts Council (CAC) proposes to provide services for two distinct populations in the City of Calexico. The community of Calexico is a bilingual, bi-cultural, and bi-national city on the California-Mexico border. The Calexico CAC proposes to provide our senior citizens and our youth with various artistic related workshops and exhibits that will educate and enrich this predominantly Hispanic population with diverse cultural arts.

Organization Summary

The Calexico Arts Council (CAC) provides the community artistic exhibits/concerts from local artists and our bi-national partners. The CAC also provides artistic related workshops for community members of all ages. The CAC will host or assist in bi-national artistic related events such as Mariachi festival. The CAC is home to the Distinguished Artist Wall which honors local artists who often have workshops for local aspiring artists within that field.
