With support from the California Arts Council, HUMBOLDT STATE UNIVERSITY SPONSORED PROGRAMS FOUNDATION, in partnership with Humboldt State University’s Art Department, will bus 3rd-5th grade students and teachers from aesthetically underserved Humboldt County elementary schools to visit local museums and galleries, where they will view and discuss contemporary artworks, interact with invited artists, and engage in arts curriculum developed and taught by HSU’s undergraduate Art Education majors.
CPH SPF manages all aspects of grant management. This includes tracking each award separately, as well as compiling all required financial and technical reports, and overseeing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. CPH SPF offers a full range of recruitment, human resources, and payroll support for grant funded employees and contracts.
CPH’s Art Department offers B.A.s in Art with three concentrations: Art Studio, Art Education, and Art History. Art Studio includes courses in Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Jewelry & Small Metals, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture. Art Education prepares students to teach art in grades K-12 in the California school system, with curriculum in criticism, studio production, and art history. Art History offers a variety of classes that explore the global history of art, ranging from ancient to contemporary. The department also offers a B.F.A. in Fine Arts and a Certificate in Museum and Gallery Practices.
