Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, BURBANK CHORALE will provide the community with access to top quality choral performances, at very affordable ticket prices. The funds will help pay for our artistic director, accompanist, other professional musicians, and venue costs, to assure excellent production values and exceptional audience experience.

Organization Summary

The Burbank Chorale is a community choir with a tradition of offering low cost, high quality concerts to the public. New singers are invited to audition every Spring and Fall semester. The Chorale has an average of 50-60 members, representing multicultural working adults, students, and senior citizens. Most live and work in or near Burbank. The Chorale constantly strives to improve the excellence of its performances through disciplined rehearsals with a professional piano accompanist. The Chorale performs two major concerts per year: Spring Concert and Holiday Concert. The concert repertoire usually includes a choral work by a major composer, along with additional pieces, such as Madrigals, opera chorus, show tunes or Holiday carols. For our concerts, we hire professional musicians to accompany the Chorale. Throughout the years, we have featured the Colburn Children’s Choir and MUSYCA Children’s Choir as guest performers at our concerts, which has widened our audience and provides a valuable opportunity for the students to perform with an adult choir.
