With support from the California Arts Council, BOYLE HEIGHTS ARTS CONSERVATORY (BHAC) will provide career training in broadcast engineering for current and former incarcerated individuals. Priority will be given to individuals 14-25 and to those who identify as women in a way that is significant to them.
BHAC currently has partnerships with for-profit organizaiotns which would allow us to place into employment a percentage of students who complete the sound, light, and board engining program.
Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory provides programs that introduce career skills for individuals who are interested in pursing creative arts careers.
These programs include: film production, web-series creation, video-game programming, music production, broadcast engineering, and digital content creation. Our FM Radio Station, KQBH, 101.5 is a community service of Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory, with daily programming focused on having community impact.
Our core programs and services are an introduction to creative arts careers that aren’t focused on the artist behind the mic or in front of the camera, rather the 100 jobs that surround those individuals. Skill training is provided in careers that are traditionally not accessible to most under-served populations.
We advocate for a creative arts industry that is reflective of our population.
