With support from the California Arts Council, Blue Sky Center will host the rural artist residency of Noé Montes in the Cuyama Valley. During this grant period Noé will lead free professional development workshops for adult students on the subject of photography and curate a newsprint edition of “Cuyama: Photographs by Noé Montes” with Cuyamans, including their content and perspectives. This community art piece will be delivered back to stakeholders and celebrated at a free event.
We organize our holistic community development and rural resiliency work under the following focus areas:
• Arts Engagement / Creative Placemaking
• Community Assessment, Research, and Advocacy
• Food Systems / Agriculture
• Rural Business and Entrepreneurship
