Project Description

TAGALOG is a one-act festival featuring original works by Filipino playwrights written in Tagalog, one of the main languages spoken in the Philippines. Our goal is to capture our audience by engaging them in familiar stories as told by Filipino Americans. With the CAC funding, we can bring contemporary narratives into a powerful artistic exchange, impacting the lives of the local community, and providing the opportunity for the Filipino diaspora in California to experience live Pinoy theater.

Bindlestiff Studio provides the often under-served Filipino American community access to diverse offerings in theatrical productions, music and film festivals, workshops in directing, production, acting, stand-up comedy, and writing, as well as arts education for youth.
