With support from the California Arts Council, Bigger Than Us Arts will create and fund a series of second line parades and support community members to participate in the Sacramento communities of Meadowview, Florin, Valley Hi, Oak Park and Del Paso.
Bigger Than Us Arts (BTU Arts) offers a variety of core programs and services aimed at enhancing music education and cultural enrichment. Our interactive school assemblies, such as the “Black History Month Assembly,” introduce students to the evolution of Black music through live performances and engaging activities. We provide instrumental workshops and after-school programs to develop students’ musical skills and appreciation. Additionally, BTU Arts organizes student showcases and community performances, giving students opportunities to perform and build confidence. Our in-school residencies and outreach initiatives ensure ongoing, high-quality music education access. Furthermore, we offer professional development workshops for educators to help integrate music into their teaching. Through public concerts and partnerships with local organizations, BTU Arts fosters community engagement and celebrates cultural diversity.
