With support from the California Arts Council, Berkeley Community Media, in collaboration with REEM Media LLC (a woman of color-owned and operated small ethical media tech business), will film and distribute a 3-4 part documentary series to showcase best practice models for individuals reentering from incarceration.
We provide production support, training, equipment, and facilities to our diverse cultural and arts communities, as well as supporting economically disadvantaged members of all backgrounds at a reduced cost. Programs produced at BCM reflect a wide range of cultural, arts, educational, and socio-political communities. We provide support to artists of all types in the community and shine a spotlight on arts organizations like Black Repertory Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, BAMPFA, ACCI Arts & Crafts Cooperative, Luna Dance Company, and the Bay Area Book Festival. In our program, Bay Area Art Beat, we provide information about upcoming arts, crafts and music festivals that are free to the public as well as a schedule of replay-times for the program. Since episodes air each week of the month at different times and will also be available on our YouTube channel, there is ample opportunity for audiences to have access to these programs. The information provided in the shows serve the entire arts and arts-appreciative communities including students, seniors, and the economically disadvantaged or marginalized. We have a membership of more than 83 diverse producers and supporters.
