With support of the California Arts Council, Berkeley Chamber Performances (BCP) will engage consultant Richard Aldag to develop a multi- year strategic plan that includes a success plan for Board leadership.
For twenty-five seasons Berkeley Chamber Performances (BCP) has been an integral part of the San Francisco Bay Area arts community and supporter of outstanding local chamber music ensembles. We began in September 1993 as a dream to invite the East Bay Community to enjoy chamber music in its originally intended intimate setting – specifically, architect Julia Morgan’s historic jewel, the Berkeley City Club – listed on the National Register of Historic Places – and to give local ensembles the opportunity to perform traditional and original works. Over our tenure we have stretched the definition of “chamber music” to include world music, jazz, dance and videos, thus confirming chamber music as an ongoing, thriving art form.
