Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Ballet Folklorico Anahuac will develop an artistic residency with Master artist Steven Valencia of Sacramento. Mr. Valencia will develop a contemporary dance component with Mexican themed matte to enrich the lives of Modesto residence. Participants will learn about contemporary dance fused with folklorico dance as well as create a choreography based in Mexican folk culture. Participants will also perform the piece at the end of the project.
Organization Summary
Ballet Folklorico Anahuac serves the Stanislaus community, located in the City of Modesto. We offer classes in ballet folklorico for students of all ages and levels. We have an academy of dance for children and young adults and a performing company that presents professional programs around the state. We also offer fitness classes in n Zumba and other techniques. Anahuac also offers educational programs for schools in our region including after-school programs, educational assemblies and residencies.
