Project Description

The mission of the Arts & Learning Conservatory is to make arts education equitable and accessible to disadvantaged and vulnerable children and equip them to be successful in life. Since its founding, ALC’s goal has been to promote experience in the arts to children regardless of race, income, or experience. ALC instills a love of the arts in youth of all backgrounds through hands-on learning experiences.

ALC’s long history and measured growth demonstrate effective program delivery. Founded in 2004 as a summer arts camp with 21 students, ALC grew into a multi-program, non-profit organization now serving 1,400 students who perform before 10,000 audience members annually. In 2021, ALC joined the Young Audiences Arts for Learning education network, which collectively impacts over 5 million youth across the country each year.

The success of ALC programs is evident through many awards and testimonials. California Assembly 74th District Honor and Recognition 2020 noted ALC as a Non-Profit of Distinction. Other awards and recognitions include Disneyland Community Arts Partner (2020 and 2016), Leadership Institute “Leader of Influence Award” (2019), Arts Orange County, Invited Board Member (2019), Segerstrom Center of the Arts, Heart Strings Partner (2018), and California Arts Council Panelist (2018). And several awards prior to 2018. Debora received certification from the National Association for Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and completed the Fieldstone Leadership program in 2021. Debora was a 2020 and 2021 Nominee for the Orange County Business Journal-Women In Business Award.
