With support from the California Arts Council, Arts for a Better Bay Area (ABBA) will embark on a capacity building project to extend our reach and impact throughout the Bay Area. Strategic organizational development will focus on the expansion of members, partnerships, events, and communications to engage a growing network of stakeholders. All efforts hinge on the believe that arts and culture play a vital role in the region’s identity and quality of life in San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
ABBA is an arts and culture advocacy organization for the Bay Area. Our earliest work is revolved around mobilizing and connecting individuals and organizations to develop a unified voice for arts in culture in the area. As the Bay Area faces difficult challenges around the cost of living, real estate market, and changing demographics, artists, arts workers and nonprofits are finding it more and more difficult to remain in the area and thrive. We host and facilitate events, meetings, outreach campaigns and partner with other service organizations, and city agencies with a focus of connecting, engaging, informing and working together to consider and overcome challenges. To date, we have mobilized around specific timely local opportunities related to regional policy and area wide issues.
