With support from the California Arts Council, ARTS ENRICHMENT FOR ALL INC will be able to hire one to two artists to teach creative movement and arts programming in three schools who have been identified as economically impacted in the Central Valley of California.
The purpose of The Arts Enrichment for All Mobile Outreach Program is to bring the arts, specifically dance, creative movement and the performing arts, to youth who would otherwise not have the opportunity for this exposure in the Central Valley of California.
The enrichment classes include creative movement, jazz, hip hop, theatre, tumbling, musical theater, performing arts, and an introduction to music. Classes teach discipline, self-esteem, social-emotional development, and teamwork. Each class is tied to the specifications set forth through standards, such as the Early Learning Foundations, Visual and Performing Arts, Common Core, and Creative Youth Development Frameworks. Weekly classes are progressive and students participate in a spectacular performance at the end of the session.
Arts Education for All has a unique curriculum that focuses on technique and performance. All classes are structured as follows: (1) Warm up/Stretch (2) Individual Activity/Technique (3) Group Performance Development (4) Team Building Cool Down. The program seeks to reveal ways in which performing arts is relevant to today’s young learners.
Dance Classes begin with warm up and stretch followed by technique which includes center work and short exciting combinations across the dance floor. Students will then engage choreography that will build from week to week. Finally, class ends with a review of terminology and cool down.
Theatre Class students will learn all aspects of the theater, which includes stage direction, costuming, character building, improvisation, script reading and writing, technical theater, and directing and arts administration. This class is an introduction of what it takes to bring a production to life.
Music Classes teach the basic fundamentals of musicality, rhythm, tone and pitch. Lessons are structure based on individual level and desired outcomes. This program is designed to meet the needs of students seeking an introduction to music or performance growth.
