With support from the California Arts Council, Artists For Change will have the resources to complete post-production work on its narrative feature film Maya, a motion picture on the pressing issues of sex trafficking of minors and domestic abuse that leads to online grooming – and coerced prostitution and slavery.
Artists For Change develops and produces feature films and documentaries with themes of social justice such as highlighting the evils of the sex trafficking trade, exploring homelessness. Coming from Los Angeles, where there are pervasive inequalities in communities across the City, the organization is dedicated to concentrating first on issues of social justice that affect the most vulernable in those communities, starting with sex trafficked minors and the homless, most of whoe are severely adversely affected by, the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization also acts as a fiscal sponsor for other filmmakers who want to make possitive change through media on issues of social justice.
Supporting Non-profit Organizations: Artists For Change collaborates with other non-profit organizations. We provide our film, television, and multimedia projects free-of-charge to support their own fundraising and educational activities.
Supporting Schools: Artists for Change’s film, TV, and multimedia projects are given to schools as an education tool to raise awareness among students and parents.
Supporting Filmmakers: Artists for Change holds educational events for filmmakers year-around to encourage them to think about the content that they put out into the world and use their voices to contribute to positive change.
