With support from the California Arts Council, Art through Action, Inc. will be able to cover the costs to provide free art classes for underserved children and young adults with special educational needs. Funding would cover one weekly group class of six and two weekly private classes.
We specialize in ceramics and painting classes offered in private and small group (up to six students) formats. We have taught students on the spectrum and with special educational needs in Thousand Oaks for over 20 years through our business, Clay Studio + Gallery, Inc. Our community is surrounded by affluence, but many families and individuals in the area struggle financially. Low-income families with children of special educational needs especially lack the support and resources to enhance their child’s learning and development.
Small-group classes and one-on-one instruction in a safe space provides students the ability to express themselves to their fullest. Through the supervision and care of Esther Alinejad, artist, and art instructor with over 30 years of working with children and adults with special educational needs, students thrive in their creativity and learning.
