Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, API CULTURAL CENTER, INC. DBA Oakland Asian Cultural Center (OACC) will provide culturally-relevant arts programming at two event series that take place on a monthly basis and three events that take place annually. All events are free, collaboratively-produced, and take place outdoors in and near Oakland’s Chinatown. Programming draws upon local artists and cultural resources to activate and celebrate the neighborhood’s history and future.
Organization Summary
Before the pandemic, we welcomed 25,000+ guests each year to our center through affordable or no-cost, unique, and easily accessible multi-ethnic and multidisciplinary art and cultural programs. Programs include:
(1) Artist in Residence; (2) Classes/Workshops/Seminars; (3) Exhibitions; (4) Festivals; (5) Performances and Other Special Events; (6) School Tours & Community Outreach
