Project Description

Founded in 1984, ABD Productions is a multicultural, multi-ethnic, mixed ability performing arts company committed to inspiring social change through the arts and to the production of new artworks created in collaboration with diverse communities. Rooted in women- and queer-centered communities, we are committed to working intersectionally, understanding that these roots cross many communities and foster points of connection across identities. ABD believes that relationships are the first site of social change, and through a durational process of relationship building and arts-based engagement in community, ABD brings people together, facilitates expression, and fosters creative problem solving. ABD has collaborated with dozens of communities to develop a repertoire of more than 100 original works that address challenging and urgent social and environmental issues.
