With support from the California Arts Council PCPA will bring approximately 1.500 students to see free student matinees. PCPA resides in a rural community and these students are from under-served schools who do not have access to professional live performing arts companies. We will provide pre-show discussions in the classroom, post show Q&As with the ensemble and a study guide that can be downloaded by the educator.
Produce 7-9 productions a year in three separate theatres. Provide exemplary training in our conservatory program for actors and theatre technicians. Five education and outreach programs including a touring production that reaches 15,000 students a year, student matinee program, summer camps and fall/spring intensive theatre training for young people ages -18, an interactive verbatim theatre project – Community Speaks and PCPA Reads – where PCPA students encourage literacy at the local elementary schools by reading and acting the characters in books to school children.
