Broadway Now! the highly successful after-school Musical Theater Program for elementary students in grades 3-6 in the San Bernardino City Unified School District, is hiring Teaching Artists for our Summer Session June 8th -July 23rd.  It is run by acclaimed theater, film, and television actor, Tony Plana. If you are interested in bringing quality musical theater instruction to the underserved youth of San Bernardino, knowing it will have a long-term positive impact on their lives, we encourage you to apply!

 

Position Descriptions:

– Teaching Artist Lead Instructors:

     A Musical Theater actor, singer, dancer, or combination thereof, who has experience working with elementary aged children. Spanish speaking a plus. Has the ability to creatively adapt the Broadway Now! summer curriculum to the needs and abilities of the students. Design lesson plans in acting, singing, and dancing that will culminate in an end of session presentation.  Knowledge and experience of theater games and improvisation is desired.

 

-Teaching Artists Assistant Teachers:

    Experience in Musical Theater. Will assist the Lead Teacher in planned lessons. Spanish speaking and prior work with children a plus.

 

Summer Session Hours: M-F 1:30-4:30.

 

Must be willing to do a background check/finger printing, provide a negative TB verification and have been fully vaccinated for Covid 19 or willing to test weekly.

 

Hourly rate at $20-$40.  Salary commensurate with level of experience and education.
