Artist Call – TASTY, a food-themed art show

Description

TASTY. Food-themed art show

This March, The Art Hunger invites artists to explore food as subject, symbol, memory, and metaphor in TASTY, a food-themed exhibition examining nourishment, desire, culture, labor, abundance, and absence.

From literal depictions of meals and ingredients to conceptual reflections or the aesthetic of meals, this exhibition welcomes a wide range of interpretations rooted in the shared and deeply human relationship with food.

REQUIREMENTS:
This is a Food-Themed Exhibition. Artists are encouraged to submit their strongest work that thoughtfully engages with themes of food, eating, hunger, sustenance, ritual, or meals.

Artists may submit up to five (5) works for consideration.
All mediums and styles are welcome, including three-dimensional work.
Submissions must be sent via email to The.Art.Hunger@gmail.com and should include:

  • High-quality images of the work
  • Title, dimensions, medium, and price
  • A brief artist bio
  • If selected, a hanging fee of $10 per piece applies. No commission will be taken on sales.

All submitted works must be exhibition-ready:

Properly framed or wired
Unframed works on paper or panel will not be accepted
Sculptural and 3D works must be structurally sound and suitable for public display
All exhibited works must be available for sale, and artists must provide a direct payment method (e.g., Venmo, Cash App).
Content must remain PG-13, as the gallery is open to all ages.
Pieces previously showcased at The Art Hunger Gallery in the past 12 months will not be eligible. This helps us make space for new work and ongoing artistic growth.
