Job Description
The Development Manager will be responsible for fundraising from Individuals, Corporate Giving and Events through our annual fund, individual giving and events by securing sponsorships from individuals and corporations. As a frontline fundraiser, the Development Manager will possess skills in donor/customer management and engagement – to ensure the maximum financial impact for the organization, while establishing a positive, inspired and rewarding experience for new and existing donors.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Development Manager will lead campaigns directed at individual and event donors. Also, the Development Manager will assist the Executive Team to engage and steward high-level prospects and supporters. The Development Manager will lead fundraising efforts for our 3 signature events – Summer On 7th, Imagine Awards and Corporate Summit – as well as overseeing third-party events/fundraisers.
Responsibilities
Individual Giving
Work with Senior Director of Development to develop and execute a comprehensive and robust annual strategy that fulfills contribution goals up to $10,000 level for individual and event donors.
Execute the strategy from prospect research through solicitation and stewardship for End of Year giving, Annual Fund, Membership Program, and events.
Track all board members give/get donations and donor acquisition/retention/upgrades via CRM.
Work with the Development Associate to maintain the CRM database, including inputting contact notes, strategies and information on prospects and donors.
Oversee all aspects of the Membership Program, developing the concept through membership-specific outreach, events and monthly recurring gifts.
Oversee all aspects of the Young Professionals Board, including recruitment, orientation and stewardship of members.
Generate gift reports and donor-giving analysis to inform strategies for year-round giving, donor retention and donor campaigns.
Events
Manage event sponsorship from prospect research through solicitation and stewardship.
Write acknowledgement letters, briefings, talking points and follow-up letters.
Manage digital fundraising campaigns to encourage onsite event donations.
Collaborate with Communications staff to develop annual individual giving campaigns, across all digital platforms and direct mail to support fundraising goals.
Recruit and manage volunteers for fundraising campaigns and programming opportunities.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in fundraising/development in a non-profit setting.
Exceptional organizational, communication and project management skills.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with Inner-City Arts’ leadership, staff and Board of Directors.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Experience with CRM donor database software DonorPerfect and/or Salesforce].
Demonstrated grant writing success.
Self-starter with the ability to work both independently as well as in a collaborative team-focused environment.
Customer service experience preferred.
Enthusiasm for the arts is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent experience.
Hours: Full-Time/Exempt position. Monday through Friday and occasional nights and weekends as necessary.

Inner-City Arts is located in the downtown Los Angeles Warehouse District, adjacent to the Arts District.
Compensation: Base salary range $67k – $72k. Inner-City Arts offers generous benefits that includes paid sick and vacation time, health and dental insurance, and a 403b retirement plan.
