Theme Overview:
First Light invites artists to explore the powerful symbolism and sensory experience of dawn — the moment light first breaks through darkness. Whether interpreted literally, metaphorically, emotionally, or spiritually, First Light represents new beginnings, awakening, revelation, and the quiet resilience of hope.

We’re seeking works that engage with themes such as:

Renewal and rebirth
The transition from darkness to light
Beginnings, origin stories, or first experiences
Light as a medium, metaphor, or motif
The interplay between shadow and illumination

Who Can Apply:
We welcome emerging and established artists working in all mediums, including but not limited to:

Painting, drawing, printmaking
Photography and digital art
Sculpture and installation
Video, new media
Mixed media and conceptual works

Artists of all backgrounds and identities are encouraged to apply.
