Poster Contest – Blue Line Arts 60th Anniversary

Description

Blue Line Arts in Roseville, CA is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year, and to celebrate, we are hosting a poster contest! Since its inception in 1966, Blue Line Arts has been a driving force in enriching the cultural fabric of Placer County and beyond.

We are looking for artists to design posters that celebrate this legacy of Blue Line Arts throughout the decades we have been serving the community. We encourage artists to take inspiration from the iconic design movements from the 60s to our current era. From Pop Art to minimalism, psychedelic art and brutalist design, artists will imagine what a poster for Blue Line Arts might have looked like throughout the decades as we grew into what we are today.

Posters will then be available for public voting, with prizes for 1st through 3rd place award winners. The prizes are as follows:

  • 1st Place – $50 gift card to BLICK Art Materials, featured poster design with dedicated post on social media,  website and newsletter feature
  • 2nd Place – $30 gift card to Michael’s, feature design in newsletter
  • 3rd Place – $20 gift card to Michael’s, feature design in newsletter
  • All participants will receive a free Blue Line Arts sticker, available for pickup at the gallery!

The posters will be on display in the gallery for the 3 weeks leading up to our SCG Artist Residency and will be for sale for the remainder of the show as merchandise for our 60th Anniversary. Artists will still retain their commission for the piece even as they are marketed as merchandise for the gallery’s 60th Anniversary.

Posters MUST be 11” x 17” and printed WITHOUT a frame. We will be hanging the posters with no-damage hardware and, after they are taken down, will be put into protective sleeves for the public to browse. Sleeves will be provided by the gallery.
