The FINAL artist’s and writer’s open call for ArtAscent Art & Literature Journal, the VISION issue, is now open.  

Vision shapes how we perceive, interpret, and imagine the world around us. It guides insight and inquiry, revealing what is visible and what lies beneath the surface. A glance can hold wonder, doubt, conviction, or possibility. Through clarity or distortion, foresight or reflection, vision invites us to question what we accept as truth and to consider what might be. Inner vision emerges through memory, intuition, dreams, and belief. It can expand boundaries, challenge assumptions, and illuminate new ways of understanding. At the same time, vision can be shaped by perspective, experience, and personal history, reminding us that how we see is as meaningful as what we see.

Vision has the power to bring great minds together, to build masterpieces, to change the world.

As we reach this final chapter of ArtAscent’s open call journey, we invite you to celebrate the power of vision with us. This is the last open call and the final opportunity to be included in the ArtAscent open call magazine archive, a lasting record of the artists and writers who have shared their creative voices since 2013.

Explore your perception of VISION in a literal, symbolic, abstract, or deeply personal way, and join us in marking this meaningful milestone together.

ArtAscent is a theme-based publication and online exhibition that showcases artists and writers from around the world practising a broad range of skills, including painting, illustration, photography, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, textile, jewelry, printmaking, digital graphics, fashion, film, video, installation, performance, story writing and poetry writing.  

ArtAscent provides the opportunity for the voices and visions of writers and artists to be shared in a professional and accessible platform. Artists and writers are published in our online exhibition for at least one year.

In addition, ArtAscent may also select your work for inclusion in the ArtAscent magazine. ArtAscent presents up to 100 high-level designed pages printed on premium-quality paper. This magazine issue is curated editorial content with no outside commercial ads. Up to 40 selected artists and writers will be published in our print and digital magazine, as well as receive a free digital copy of the magazine. Four will also receive a feature section with a profile written about them. All magazine artists and writers are showcased to art lovers through our social media and print and digital issues.

Applications may include all art mediums that can be represented in 2D and written explorations of up to 1,800 words. We love diversity. Submissions must be the original work of the applicant(s). Creatives featured in the past can apply again with other works not previously published in ArtAscent. HOW TO APPLY: Apply using the online application form on our website. Application fees help cover costs such as design, writing, administration and artist promotion. NOTIFICATION: Notification is made by email to subscribers of the ArtAscent newsletter.
