Applications are now open for two, 24-month Fellowships for artists ages 21 to 40 who are committed to deepening their fine arts practice and expanding their exposure to the public.
Applicants must live and work in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. BIPOC artists are encouraged to apply.
About Gallery Route One – A regional landmark since 1983, Gallery Route One (GRO) is a non-
profit arts organization located in the town of Point Reyes Station, adjacent to the Point Reyes
National Seashore in Marin County, California. GRO’s mission is to originate and present
contemporary art exhibitions, educational programs and community outreach in order to inspire
people to experience the world in new ways. The Fellowship Program is an important part of
that.
Fellowship benefits include:
– A minimum of ten exhibition opportunities, including one solo exhibition and a two-person
exhibition
– A stipend of $1500 to support the production and presentation of work in the exhibitions
– Mentoring and assistance producing the exhibitions
– Publicity and promotion for the exhibitions
– The opportunity to be hired as a Teaching Artist in GRO’s Artists-in-the-Schools Program
The application criteria include:
– A serious fine arts practice built on training, education and/or experience
– A cohesive portfolio of work completed within the last five years
– A developing focus or a current area of interest, inquiry and/or experimentation
– A desire to develop or expand public exposure for your work
– An interest in inspiring people to experience the world in new ways through art
