Jun Daiko is composed of taiko players with significant performance experience from membership in well-regarded North American taiko groups such as San Jose Taiko, the Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble, Zenshin Daiko, Kona Daifukuji Taiko, Midwest Buddhist Temple Taiko, and Stanford Taiko. With its members’ depth of experience, Jun Daiko’s programming centers around performance and teaching. Since the group’s debut at InStyle Palo Alto, Jun Daiko has been honored by invitations to perform at the Taiko Festival-Maui, Shasta Yama, the International Taiko Festival, and the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. The group performs and offers lecture demonstrations for local events.

Since its start Jun Daiko has forged a symbiotic relation with Mt. View Buddhist Temple (MVBT) in which MVBT provides facilities and instruments in exchange for Jun Daiko’s development of and support for the MVBT Taiko program. Jun Daiko members regularly provide instruction for 2 levels of youth classes, an adult class, and a seniors class. Jun Daiko and MVBT have also partnered to host the regional Buddhist Taiko Gathering (2018) and the national North American Taiko Conference (2011). Jun Daiko members and MVBT taiko students regularly attend and volunteer for taiko community activities. Since 2021, while emerging from the COVID pandemic, Jun Daiko sponsored and continues to support SVDSN (Silicon Valley Down Syndrome Network) Taiko classes and activities.
