With support from the California Arts Council the Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation would remain a viable source of educational performing arts programming for underserved and disadvantaged community youth. Granted funds would alleviate the basic operational needs of the Foundation permitting increased budgeting for programming and community outreach.
Upon its inception in 1989 the Foundation addressed the scope of programming at the LPAC to encompass opportunities of cultural awareness for young adolescents. In 1999, the Foundation’s commitment was realized through the Arts for Youth program. The Foundation provides support to under-served schools through ticket scholarships, artist support, performing arts outreach and transportation grants. Additionally, the Foundation supports local performing arts groups who showcase youth performers through the Performing Arts Community Grant program. The program provides monetary support to the local ballet, orchestra(s) and theater community in the form of grants to aid in the cost of hosting performances at the LPAC. In 2016 the Foundation launched the Performing Arts Scholarship program, annually pledging to award a deserving high school senior a $5,000 scholarship towards the pursuit of higher education within the Performing Arts. It is the only scholarship of its kind in our community.
