Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, the Natomas Garden & Arts Club will increase organizational commitment to issues of equity and diversity, and expand our programming, outreach, and capacity to more closely reflect the rich diversity of the community we serve.

Organization Summary

The NGAC provides low- and no-cost art and horticultural workshops, lessons, and activities to the community. We work directly with the public through website, social media, and zoom. We also work on site at afterschool programs and in classrooms. We have built pollinator gardens in our area, and plan to build more. We have gallery shows and sales for emerging and underrepresented artists, and will continue to do so. We are also looking for community art projects not only to build the vitality and connectivity of the community, but also to pay local artists for their work. During the next few years, while building our Garden & Art Center and Gallery, we plan to share the processes and show community members easy ways to add equity to their properties and to their neighborhoods.
