With support from the California Arts Council, Razorcake/Gorsky Press (Razorcake) will be using funds for general operating support in the areas that will help the organization continue to remain sustainable. Grant money will be used for paying employees, artists, independent contractors, and programs critical to Razorcake’s mission.
Razorcake, our bi-monthly magazine, is a one-of-a-kind resource for the DIY punk community and beyond.
As of May 2019, Razorcake is the last regularly published punk magazine in the U.S. It has a print run of 6,300.
Without question, diversity makes Razorcake a better punk organization, which is why we feature under-represented artists who have contributed significantly to California’s ongoing, globally-recognized punk cultural legacy.
Over the years, Razorcake has developed this core resource to help document as many facets of this culture as we can. In addition to Razorcake magazine, the RC/GP umbrella has grown to include book publishing, record pressing, live shows and readings, and a thriving web presence that maintains weekly podcasts, webcomics, photos, columns, and videos.
