With support from the California Arts Council, Las Maestras Center for Xicana[x] Indigenous Thought, Art and Social Praxis at UC Santa Barbara will host “animArte,” a facilitated series of intergenerational community arts and culture workshops aimed at revitalizing the creative spirit. “animArte” is curated by Xicana visual artist, Celia Herrera-Rodríguez.
At the forefront of Scholarship in the Humanities and Fine Arts: From the English Broadside Ballad Archive to the Center for the Study of Work, Labor and Democracy, UC Santa Barbara is home to 24 dedicated research centers and academic initiatives, as well as four performance programs in theater and dance and 25 musical groups, ensembles and choirs.
