With support from the California Arts Council, Peninsula Women’s Chorus (PWC) will continue to provide musical events for the FY22-23 season. Your support for general operating funds will allow salaries to continue to be paid and venues to be rented.
Founded in 1966, and incorporated in 2003, The Peninsula Womens Chorus (PWC) is synonymous with artistic excellence in choral music. Our 2024-25 season launches PWC’s 58th year as an award-winning women’s vocal ensemble actively participating in the risk-taking artistic culture of Silicon Valley.
Key programs include:
(1) Two annual concert series – Winter (Dec) and Spring (May)
(2) New Music for Treble Voices Festival (NMfTV) – Hosted by PWC, brings together other local treble choirs from the Bay Area and beyond to share our new music and inspire each other
(3) Ongoing commissions of new works for treble voices. To date, PWC has commissioned over 50 works
(4) Composer-in-Residence Program
(5) Virtual Voices (ViVo) Program, a part-time, optionally distanced program for singers who live outside of the Bay Area or who are unable to commit to the full musical program due to work, caregiving, maternity, or other demands on time
(6) High School Mentorship Program, which invites high school choral and/or voice students to sing with PWC at no cost
(7) Beginning and Intermediate Conductor Program
