Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, MOJALET DANCE COLLECTIVE will be able to strengthen the organization infrastructure, allow for additional organizational support for outreach programs, and create more consistent paid opportunities for performers.
Organization Summary
1) Enhance the Community through Dance Education: Mojalet offers dance classes for amateur students of all ages with accessibility at Mojalet’s Vine Theater located in Rancho Bernardo.
2) Dance Education in Public Schools: In collaboration with Arts for Learning San Diego, an affiliate of Young Audiences, Mojalet offers residencies & workshops for San Diego City and beyond the city boarders: workshops teach basic dance concepts, movement exploration, and Common Core Arts Integration.
3) A. Present Emerging and Established Professional Dance/Live Performing Arts at The Vine Theater in Rancho Bernardo: The primary target is to bring live performing arts to Rancho Bernardo which is an underserved population in this regard. In 2021, Mojalet presented the 13th Annual Summer Series: eight weekends of performances by various local organizations and artists including Mojalet’s professional company.
