With support from the California Arts Council, PNDA LahiARTS will present artistic and cultural programs during its 2021 all-digital season during: 1. Asian Pacific Islander Desi Heritage Month (May); 2. LGBTQIA Pride Month (June); 3. Filipino American Youth Leadership Conference (August); and, 4. Filipino American History Month (October).
1. LAHIARTS: a presenting series that supports the cultural and artistic aspirations of PNDA by organizing and building the Filipino-American community in Sacramento through the voice of contemporary artists and the powerful, bold, thought-provoking creative works and images they create that instigate discussion and social action.
2. FILIPINO AMERICAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: youth-led conference conceived as a laboratory for youth leadership training by high school students with adult guidance and intended for high school participants to address youth issues.
3. OUTSTANDING FILIPINO YOUTH AWARDS: a scholarship program recognizing our youth for their contributions, raising them up as role models to their peers. PNDA believes that an educated community is an empowered community. The OFYA Scholarship program was established to support the education of our youth–education that is critical in preparing them for their future and the community’s future.
4. FILIPINO AMERICAN MENTORSHIP: serves to cultivate leadership and community engagement opportunities for the Filipino American community and aims to foster meaningful relationships across community members and provide intentional guidance and support to empower college and high school students to engage with their community.
