Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council the Jewel Box Children’s Theater Company will expand our Arts Education Outreach Program. Funds will be used to pay for teaching artist stipends, theater and music activity packs for distribution, scholarships, Zoom and website fees, and administrative costs.
Organization Summary
The core of our services is our Community Engagement Program offering free music and theater instruction to children in underserved communities. Our current partners include Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine, The Long Beach Unified School District, Long Beach Head Start, The Signal and Long Beach Hill Public Libraries and Miller Children’s Hospital in addition to our west Long Beach studio. Our Conservatory Program is the resident children’s theater program at The Long Beach Playhouse and produces shows featuring scripts and music written by the students.
