Killing My Lobster (KML) is the Bay Area’s premier sketch comedy company, with praise from SF Weekly and the SF Chronicle drawing comparisons to Second City and Saturday Night Live. Our core programs have made KML a vital part of the region’s cultural landscape, known for bold, original work and a commitment to local artists.

Each year, we produce 2-4 live sketch comedy shows that reflect contemporary issues while celebrating joyful absurdity. Recent sold-out hits like Sketch on Speed (a rapid-fire satire showcase), Bad Lobster (a bold experimental revue), and Legends and Laughter (a genre-bending fantasy quest) highlight our creative range. We’ve also leaned into format experimentation recently with shows like Lobster Boil, Look, We Have Friends, and J’Accuse, pushing the boundaries of structure and tone.

Our artistic process, led by longtime company member Nicole Odell, is rooted in collaboration, compassion, and curiosity. We foster an environment where artists can take big swings and weird detours, knowing they’re supported by a team that values authenticity, play, and respect.

This philosophy extends to the KML School of Comedy, where we teach sketch writing and performance to anyone eager to join the KML community or the broader indie arts scene. We believe sketch comedy should be accessible to all and provide a supportive entry point into an art form that’s often exclusive.
