Project Description
With the support of the California Arts Council, MUSIC FOR MINORS II will recruit, train/support volunteers to become music docents sharing weekly music enrichment lessons in children’s classrooms, nurturing their love/literacy of music, enhancing academics, providing performance opportunities. Funds: recruitment flyers, training materials/supplies, mentoring support, insurance, classroom presentations, volunteer recognition.
Organization Summary
Recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers who become volunteer music docents serving children weekly in grades preschool through 6th grade. MFMII also sponsors workshops, community concerts, school family music nights, etc. to enrich the community and also encourage participants to consider volunteering in Music for Minors II. These programs and services have kept the beat going in countless schools since 1989 when the program was officially established.
