Project Description

With support from the California Arts council, Support for Intertribal Gatherings will strengthen Ohlone presence in the network of Chumash, Yokut, Miwok and Pomo tribal dance groups we have supported for ten years. The Ohlone will host the groups San Francisco and the Ohlone will travel to their neighbor’s reservations.

Organization Summary

We produce an annual week long summer camp and an annual 3 day tribal dance gathering. We completed a large celebration for the 50 years reunion of the occupation of Alcatraz Island by Indians of All Tribes in 2019. In 2025 we are developing a new program to feature tribal water songs.
